Abstract

This study aimed at analyzing the keywords and authors of the KCI listed theological journals and finding the official research performance of Korean theology. This study divided the periods in two according to how duplicate the authors are and found hierarchical clusters by analyzing 92 keywords using the McQuitty method. In analyzing them, the Ward linkage method was selected to prevent the authors from gathering into a small number of clusters. Also, to find how influential the journals were to the keywords, the keywords and the percentage of the journals in them were presented together. The authors were analyzed in terms of deciding the positions of them using normalized performance index representing the number of journals and growth index as a growth tendency. Especially, significant researchers were all reformed theologians in a growth index. In the analysis of the keywords of the KCI journals and the authors, the main subject terms of the Korean theology were related to systematic theology and the New Testament. By analyzing the KCI listed journals as the Korean official citation index, this study has made a difference to the advanced articles analyzing the non-KCI listed theological journals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the media contained in textbooks for students with disabilities based on the information processing model, and to find ways to utilize library materials for class improvement for them. To this end, the media included in the in-depth learning activities of the Korean language textbooks of the 2015 revised special education basic curriculum were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was found that students with disabilities received information mainly through vision, process information through understanding, and use language intelligence to produce results. Specifically, they accepts learning contents through illustrations and texts, processes the contents based on understanding such as reasoning and explanation, and then uses linguistic intelligence such as writing and speaking to produce results. Based on the results of this analysis, a practical method to utilize library materials in the Korean language class of students with disabilities was proposed as follows. Developing a variety of input mediums based on reading stages and collection mapping for students with disabilities. Providing book materials through reading and listening. Teaching appropriate methodological knowledge to self-directly solve advanced learning activities. In addition, developing types of writing and writing strategies that can help various production activities.

Abstract

This research is aimed at contributing to the education related to library space planning by carrying out a questionnaire survey on the recognition of libraries related to the education related to library space planning and supporting libraries in charge of library space planning through the result analysis. The following is a report on the direction and improvement of education based on a survey on the impact on subjects related to library space planning. First of all, education on library space planning should be centered on practical work of space planning. Second, the participation of librarians in the planning process of library space must be considered important for smooth communication with users and experts. Third, it is expected to be necessary to plan education methods and curriculums related to the planning of library space according to the size and budget of the library. Fourth, active public relations regarding library space planning education is necessary. The active promotion of library space education will emphasize the participation and necessity of librarians in space practice, and further contribute to the operation of libraries and the provision of library services to users.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the model of cluster analysis techniques for grouping public libraries and analyze their characteristics. Statistical data of public libraries of the National Library Statistics System were used, and three models of cluster analysis were applied. As a result of the study, cluster analysis was conducted based on the size of public libraries, and it was largely divided into two clusters. The size of the cluster was largely skewed to one side. For grouping based on size, the ward method of hierarchical cluster analysis and the k-means cluster analysis model were suitable. Three suggestions were presented as implications of the grouping method of public libraries. First, it is necessary to collect library service-related data in addition to statistical data. Second, an analysis model suitable for the data set to be analyzed must be applied. Third, it is necessary to study the possibility of using cluster analysis techniques in various fields other than library grouping.

Abstract

Plan S is a policy that mandates research papers supported by specific funders such as the European Community be published in open access journals. The funder supports APC to researchers, providing a chance to advance the era of gold open access, and is expected to bring significant changes to the scholarly publishing ecosystem. This study explored the impact of Plan S from the perspective of each stakeholder of the scholarly publishing ecosystem, such as funders, academic societies or publishers, authors, and libraries, through a review of previous studies. In addition, the status of Korean gold open access publishing and position for each stakeholder were identified through the collected data analysis. As a result of the analysis, the share of publishing gold open access journals in Korea was 22%, which was less than 26% worldwide. Korean funding agencies were predicting and preparing for the impact of Plan S. On the other hand, Korean academic societies produce about 70% of all papers, but there are not many open access papers except medicine (51%). The response of the Korean library was not sufficient, and it contrasted with the activities of librarians in the U.S. that actively provide research support services based on the research lifecycle. It was suggested that Korean libraries should also actively try to change the role of librarians; advising researchers to plan open access publishing in grant project applications, consulting on copyrights, and so on. This study identified the background, principles, and impact of Plan S policy that would be effective in 2021 and examined the response situation in Korea. This study is valuable in that it served as the necessary basis for revitalizing the academic publishing ecosystem in Korea.

Abstract

This study examined the problems of evaluating records management institutions of District Offices of Education (DOE) and conducted literature reviews, surveys, and in-depth interviews to suggest improvement measures. This study analyzed survey questions (response rate 52.8%) of records management officers in charge of records management in 176 DOE and in-depth interviews of records managers from 15 institutions who agreed to participate. Based on the analysis of the surveys and interviews, a further interview was conducted with a records manager responsible for records management institution evaluation at the National Archives of Korea (NAK). All of the results were aggregated to derive improvement measures in the areas of evaluation environment, agents of evaluation, and evaluation policy. The results of this study can be used as references to implement evaluations for records management institutions that reflect the characteristic of each institution type.

Abstract

This study discusses the needs and demands of researchers regarding Korean Studies resources in Australia. Research was conducted through surveys and interviews on Korean Studies researchers' research areas, ways of acquiring research resources, preferred resource format types and use of services provided by academic libraries in Australia. Accessibility was the main issue that the researchers were concerned with and the methods to facilitate easy access to Korean Studies resources at academic libraries were raised, such as the necessity for a subject librarian in Korean Studies. In addition, the study findings will help Korean Studies researchers as well as librarians at universities without Korean Studies collections to understand the current research trends in Korean Studies in Australia.

Abstract

In this study, as the role and function of university libraries have been expanded to become a base for local information services and local information service centers along with the demands of the times, this study seeks to find ways to revitalize university library services using local cultural contents. I did. As a result, first, university libraries select core cultural contents representing the region or contents related to people from the region as regional cultural contents, receive information from relevant institutions in the region, or directly It must perform social, cultural and educational functions based on culture and art. Second, when planning programs related to local cultural contents, university libraries should proceed in the form of combining local visits, learning, reading, and experiences. Third, university libraries should play a role as a repository of cultural resources and a hub of cultural resources through systematic and stable preservation of cultural resources and widespread service expansion through the establishment of a local cultural resource management system.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to identify limitations and problems in access to information using reading aids devices for the visually impaired and to suggest ways to activate the use of alternative materials using reading aids devices. A survey was conducted on adults with visual impairment in order to identify the factors of limitation in using reading aids devices. The analysis resulted in six aspects of limiting factors in activating the use of reading aids devices. The approaches for activating the use of reading aids devices were proposed by dividing them into policy and operational aspects, focusing on the limiting factors derived. Policy aspects suggested developing low-cost reading aids devices, increasing awareness of the devices, and complying with Web standard guidelines for improving the applicability of the devices, while operational aspects suggested reinforcing hearing-use functions, expanding information services related to reading aids devices, and enhancing portability of the devices.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to lay the foundation for the construction of an identification system by proposing descriptive items that can identify the creators who participated in the production of broadcasting video records. In order to uniquely identify the creators of broadcasting video records, a total of seven descriptive categories, including name, gender, date of birth, name identifier system, nationality, affiliated agencies, and major fields, were organized into three categories: individual, affiliation, and role. These categories were classified and categorized into two stages. Based on the proposed structure, a total of 10 basic facets and 14 sub-facets were constructed to establish a faceted structure for identifying the creators of broadcasting video records.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to define a method of building an integrated service to provide various science and technology knowledge infrastructures that are helpful in R&D activities, and to show the cases that are adapted the methodologies. Knowledge infrastructures scattered throughout the entire R&D cycle, such as generating/development of ideas, finding the R&D project, performing the project, and spreading results, are segmented in terms of services, functions, information, and data, and links and converges to provide the knowledge infrastructure that desired by users in one place. We define the integrated service classification, integration level model, integrated architecture, and integrated user authentication system in consideration of logical linkage and integration rather than physical integration of individual knowledge infrastructures. Also, we considered the extensibility as the reference model for building of similar integrated service.
