Research Trends in Educational Journal Articles: Content Analysis

본 연구는 한국교육학 분야의 대표적인 두 학술지에 10년 동안 발표된 연구논문 913편을 대상으로 연도별 발표논문 수와 연구주제별 발표논문 경향, 연구행태, 연구자 및 공동연구자의 수와 소속, 연구방법, 연구비 지원유무 및 지원기금을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 교육행정과 고등교육 분야의 논문발표는 지속적으로 증가추세를 보이며, "교육학 연구"에서는 기초학문적인 연구가, 그리고 "한국교육"에서는 정책 연구가 많은 비중을 차지했다. 연구방법으로 문헌연구, 조사연구, 실험연구, 사례연구 등의 순서로 사용되었지만 실험연구가 널리 사용되는 연구방법임이 밝혀졌다. 연구수행 행태에서 67%의 연구가 단독연구이며, 85%의 연구가 교수와 연구원에 의해 수행되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 실천적인 교육분야 연구, 국제지표와 현안에 대한 비교연구, 방법론의 정교화, 연구 분석단위의 다양화를 제언으로 제시하였다.

Abstract

This research used content analysis to examine the research trends of two core journals from 2000 to 2009 in education. The analysis measured research subjects, research methods, research behaviors, numbers of author and co-authors' affiliations, and research funds. The results showed that research articles in educational administration and higher education have increased constantly, whereas research articles in other fields have decreased. Experimental research method was shown to be used widely along with documentary research and survey research method. Most researches were done by one author and each of them were affiliated to universities or research institutions. The research suggested practical educational research, comparative research on international issues and indexes, methodological elaboration, and use of various units of analysis for future studies.
