한국비블리아학회는 지난 50여 년간 한국의 문헌정보학계와 도서관의 발전에 중심적 역할을 수행해온 전문학술단체로서 국내 관련 학회와의 유대는 물론 회원 상호 간의 협력 증진을 주 목적으로 한다. 현재 전국 37개 대학교의 교수와 도서관 현장의 학위 소지자인 연구 사서들을 포함하여 약 550여 명의 회원을 두고 있으며, 40여 개의 도서관 및 연구 단체들이 가입하여 열심히 활동하고 있다.

  한국비블리아학회의 목적 사업은 다음과 같다.

1. 학술발표, 학술강연회(매년 춘계, 추계 2회 개최), 세미나 및 워크숍 개최

2. 학회지 발간(매년 4회 간행, 매년 3월 30일, 6월 30일, 9월 30일, 12월 30일)

3. 연구 용역 수행

4. 국내외 유관 기관과의 상호 협력

5. 학회가 필요로 하는 사업 등 

  본 학회에서 발간하는 <한국비블리아학회지> 는 문헌정보학 전반에 걸친 연구 및 교류를 통하여 학문 발전에 기여함을 주 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 매년 일정한 전문 주제를 기획하여 이와 관련된 논문을 엄선하여 발간하고 있다. 2000년부터는 한국연구재단의 평가 제도에 부응하여 보다 우수한 연구논문을 엄격한 심사과정을 거쳐 년 4회씩 발간하고 있으며, 앞으로도 기획된 전문 주제를 계속 발굴, 수록할 예정이다.

  The Korean Biblia Society for Library and Information Science is a specialized academic organization that has played a central role in the development of the library and information science community in Korea for the past 50 years. Currently, it has about 550 members, including professors from 37 universities nationwide and research librarians who hold degrees in the library field, and about 40 libraries and research organizations have joined and are working hard.

  The objective projects of the Korean Biblia Society for Library and Information Science are as follows.

1. Academic presentations, academic lectures (held twice a year in spring and autumn), seminars and workshops

2. Journal publication (published four times a year, March 30th, June 30th, September 30th, December 30th every year)

3. Research service performance

4. Mutual cooperation with domestic and foreign related organizations

5. Projects required by the society, etc.

  The <Journal of the Korean Biblia Society for Library and Information Science> published by this society aims to contribute to academic development through research and exchange throughout the library and information sciences. To this end, a certain specialized topic is planned every year, and related papers are carefully selected and published. From 2000, in response to the evaluation system of the National Research Foundation of Korea, superior research papers have been published four times a year through a rigorous review process, and planned special topics will be continuously discovered and recorded.
